Calls to terminate Columbia River Treaty spark concern after 2 years of negotiations

Canada and the U.S. have been renegotiating the 56-year-old treaty, which regulates the flow of the Columbia River. Now a Washington state congressman is calling on the president to terminate the agreement, considered to be a model of international cooperation on hydropower development.
