MPs set to vote on motion to recognize Emancipation Day across Canada

MPs will vote soon on a motion introduced by Liberal MP Majid Jowhari calling on Canada to officially recognize August 1 as Emancipation Day — marking the date in 1834 when slavery was abolished in the British Empire.
