Video of Mountie ordering journalist to ‘be silent’ at protest raises press freedom concerns: rights groups

Legal experts say they’re concerned about a widely shared video showing an RCMP officer telling a journalist to be “silent” while she covered protests against old-growth logging on Vancouver Island “or you’re gone.” The Mounties are asking people to consider context that may be missing in the short clip.
