The November death of Greenpeace pioneer Terry Simmons in Vancouver went mostly unnoticed because of his nature as a private person, says a friend. In 1971, Simmons was one of 12 men aboard the inaugural Greenpeace voyage that left Vancouver to protest the Amchitka nuclear bomb testing in Alaska.
